Health Care Asset Allocation Study

2011 Study is now open Partcipate today

The Cleary Gull Advisors Health Care Team is focused on providing relevant and timely information regarding investment topics to not-for-profit health care organizations. The annual Health Care Asset Allocation Study was designed to create guidelines, peer group comparisons and trend data for health care organizations across the country. This information is valuable when determining suitable asset allocation and establishing investment program best practices. Highlights of the study include:

Assets and Portfolio Considerations: What types of products are being used in portfolios? Alternatives gained increased popularity – what different types are used and to what extent? The market volatility has presented challenges regarding rebalancing – what is the frequency and how has it changed?

Investment Policy Statement: How many participants have a defined rate of return? The strategy used in a policy – How many link it to the underlying structure of their liabilities and how important is this? Does it contain any spending guidelines?

Financial Metrics: With the slowing of operations, how many participants had a compromise in debt covenants and what was the most common issue?  What about interest rate swaps on debt? How many participants plan to refinance or issue new debt?
