Business Systems Analyst

 

We are looking for an individual to assist in the technology initiatives of the company. This position requires someone who is capable of day-to-day operational analysis and support, as well as researching, developing, and implementing new technology. 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and related infrastructure.
  • Software systems support and development – activities include, but are not limited to, software upgrades & patches, security, interfaces/integration, and other organizational tasks.
  • Database administration and reporting
  • Assist project teams with technical issues during the project life cycle. Activities would include research & development and support of operations staff in executing, testing, and implementing the solutions
  • Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, partners, and clients.
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks.  Identify solutions that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
  • Assist in developing documentation and training across the organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (4-year) is required
  • Three or more years of software systems and network experience in the financial services industry is required
  • Strong background in Windows Server platforms, Active Directory, Exchange 2003/2007, VMware, and SAN shared storage
  • Solid knowledge of LAN/WAN configurations to include experience with Cisco routers & switches, Internet firewalls, and Cisco CallManager
  • One or more years of SQL database administration and reporting experience is preferred

Research Analyst

 

We are looking to add a member to our research team responsible for the research and monitoring of investment managers/funds, asset allocation strategies, the development of customized research models and presentations for prospective and existing clients. Will work closely with the investment team and may also participate on a client service team.

 

Responsibilities include: 

 

  • Research and evaluate mutual fund and traditional and non-traditional investment managers. Access resources such as money manager databases, in-house and third party research, Internet sites and fund and money management company representatives to gather information to evaluate and make comparisons among funds and managers and against firm policy. 

  • Attend meetings and interviews with portfolio managers and other fund or manager representatives (some travel required). Write summaries for use in client communication and for reference.

  • Attend meeting with research and investment teams and recommend changes to the Investment Group.

  • Develop customized research models and presentations for prospective and existing clients. This research includes, but is not limited to, portfolio distribution analysis, Monte Carlo analysis, and asset/liability matching.

  • Research and report on various investment topics to include in client communications or to evaluate and recommend products or concepts. Individual research projects could range from comparing features, requirements and costs of competing software products to preparing a discussion of characteristics, risks, benefits and strategies for using an asset type.

  • Follow and maintain a working knowledge of the economy and investment markets.

  • Other duties may include assisting with RFP responses, analysis of portfolios, transition management during portfolio reallocations, and evaluation of investment policy.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for the investment management business.
  • Progress toward or achievement of post undergraduate degree, such as CFA designation (passed Level II) or Masters Degree preferred.
  • Two to five years investment experience.
  • A strong understanding of securities analysis.
  • A strong understanding of financial markets, statistics, and economics.
  • An ability to think and work independently and as part of a diverse team.
  • Time management; flexibility to manage current work load and add new projects.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle a fast-paced and demanding environment in an effective and professional manner.
  • Very strong Excel skills including the ability to create complex calculations, create charts/graphs, and utilize other basic functions.
  • Ability to be creative when using Excel and Word to create reports to make future maintenance of those reports as efficient as possible.
  • Willingness and ability to learn various investment and manager databases/applications (Zephyr, LANA, Morningstar Direct, Capital IQ and AllocationMaster) in a short period of time.
